Lisa N. Brunengraber, MD, FACOG, DABOM

Integrative Gynecologist, Women's Health, and Weight Loss Specialist

Dr. Brunengraber, known as Dr. Lisa to her patients and staff, strives to provide her patients with world-class care. She rejects the one-size-fits-all approach to medicine, and instead works with her patients to make individual treatment plans tailored to their own personal needs. She welcomes patients from all backgrounds, professions and lifestyles, and all sexual orientations and gender identities. She is a proud LGBTQIA+ ally. She cultivates a non-judgmental and supportive environment to put her patients at ease. Her patients feel safe, heard, respected, and empowered during their visits.

Her specialty interests include general and integrative gynecology, weight loss medicine, sexual health, low libido, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, contraception and family planning, irregular periods, PCOS, abnormal pap smears, and non-surgical management of chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. She also provides GLP1 custom dosing and micro dosing for weight management, chronic pain, and other inflammatory conditions. Sedation and anesthesia are available for IUD insertions, colposcopies/LEEPs, hysteroscopies, and other in-office gynecologic procedures on request. Dr. Lisa no longer provides prenatal care, however, she is happy to offer preconception consultations.

Dr. Lisa holds board certifications in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as in Obesity Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (DABOM). She is also an active member of the Menopause Society, the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, and the Obesity Medicine Association.

Dr. Lisa has been practicing in Chicago as a Northwestern-affiliated OB/GYN physician since 2014. She trained at Duke University as an OB/GYN resident and at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine for medical school. She completed the National Institutes of Health’s Clinical Research Training Program during medical school and maintains a strong interest in clinical research. She loves living in Chicago with her husband and fur-babies. In her free time, she enjoys exercise, cooking, art, indie movies, DIY projects, and funny cat videos.
